Wrote 320,000 words; Deleted 150,000 words; Changed 170,000 words; Changed 40,000 back again; Wrote for >2,500 hours; Edited full novel 23 times (Accidentally deleted 3 of those edits and did them again);

Sent 14 queries; Got 4 rejections and decided I’m rubbish; Got 2 full manuscript requests and did a dance of joy; Got ghosted by the rest and wondered if I actually even exist; Got a full manuscript rejection and lost my self-esteem; Kept checking my inbox for the other pending full; Kept checking my sent box to make sure I even sent it;

2 research field trips; 400 hours trawling archives; 17 Writers’ Group meetings; One conference; 41 manuscripts reviewed for other writers

Five blogs; Published a novel; Finished editing the novel I started in 2024 and submitted for publication; Started and finished a new novel; Drafted ½ another novel
